Sandra and Jeff were superb hosts during our three-night stay at the Hummingbird Inn, Sunday through Wednesday. Sandra knew the area well and suggested great day trips, sights, and restaurants. We loved the breakfasts, and our room was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The location worked perfectly for fall leaf-peeping and rides on the scenic railway.

The train across the street often blew its horn late at night or early in the morning, and as a light sleeper I was woken up. Apart from that, the Hummingbird Inn was a hidden gem for unwinding. There isn’t much to do right nearby, but good restaurants, hiking spots, and hot springs are a 20-30 minute drive away. My husband and I booked the babymoon package, with freshly baked cookies, chocolate-covered strawberries, sparkling cider, in-room massages, and a bouquet of roses. The owners were kind and attentive, and went out of their way to welcome us. Breakfast was phenomenal each morning, and the sheets were the softest I’ve slept on. The jacuzzi tub also helped ease my third-trimester pain.

Sandra gave us a lovely tour of the house and grounds and shared their history. She and Jeff made the whole stay a delight, even playing some of our favorite artists’ songs during the delicious breakfasts. My wife and I spent a wonderful long weekend at the Hummingbird Inn after our wedding, relaxing in the Serenity Cabin, separate from the main building. Jeff built it, and we couldn’t stop admiring how perfect it was. The inn is within reasonable driving distance of lots of attractions, including the Omni Hotsprings/Resort, hiking trails, and wineries. We’ll definitely return. I couldn’t recommend it more.

Goshen is a great town if you want to get away from it all, and the Hummingbird Inn is a charming, sophisticated place for a quiet getaway. Jeff and Sandra are excellent hosts, both professional and personable. Just be ready for about a 30-minute drive if you’re looking for restaurants.

We booked the babymoon package to relax and get away before our first was born, and had such a great time that we added another night, making it three altogether. Would definitely recommend.
