Candlewood Suites Grand Junction by IHG

The front desk staff are always so kind, and I feel safe and comfortable here. I’ve been staying at this hotel for years whenever I come in for appointments. The rooms are clean, roomy, and have kitchens.

The rooms were spacious and attractive, and the beds were comfortable. But the front desk was no help with the billing problems. I had two rooms booked and paid for online through Priceline, yet they placed two different incidental charges on my card, $42 and $175. When I called, they said one was charged by mistake and would be refunded, but the money never came back. My bank said it would disable the card if the charges posted because they were unauthorized, and now the card is disabled. It was supposed to be used only for the incidental hold, not another room stay or extra charges after I’d paid online. I was also given only one room key. The employee asked if anyone else was coming, and I said no because I didn’t know what he meant. When I asked for the other room’s key, he explained that was why he’d asked. Why not just give me keys for both rooms? I hope they didn’t charge me again for a room I’d already paid for. There was no breakfast or pool, either.

Our room was broken into during our Thanksgiving week stay, and quite a lot of money’s worth of things was stolen. The staff got defensive and rude, especially when we told them we’d filed a police report. I’ve never been treated so horribly. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

The bed was really comfortable, and our kitchenette suite was super cute.
