Clarion Inn Grand Junction

My first stay was pleasant enough that I came back, but the second visit was disappointing. The rooms were decent and the front desk staff were okay, though the hotel felt average overall. The Clarion could work if you just need a place to sleep before getting back on the road. I don’t have any major concerns, but the experience seems hit or miss.

The hot breakfast was very good, with scrambled eggs and even biscuits and gravy. My wife and I spent a night here while traveling east after a short vacation. Check-in was easy, and the staff were friendly. I also liked that there’s security in the parking lot. The property is a little dated, but the room was spacious, clean, and quiet. Clean, comfortable, quiet, nice staff, great breakfast. It checked all the boxes, and we’d stay again if we’re in GJ.

The kids loved the pool, and we enjoyed the breakfast. There was also a good spot for pets to relieve themselves. The staff were great and accommodating, and made it feel like home. Our family loved staying here!

The $5 daily parking charge felt like a scam to me. It’s buried three clicks into the website and isn’t obvious. This isn’t downtown, and parking is plentiful in this part of Grand Junction. The Econo-Lodge next door, also part of Choice Hotels, doesn’t charge for parking. We’ll stay somewhere else next time we’re in Grand Junction, not at the Clarion. The hotel is conveniently just off I-70, and the building and rooms were clean, with furniture in good shape. My room had a microwave and mini-fridge/freezer, and it was fairly quiet, though I had to stuff a towel under the door to cut down hallway noise. Breakfast was pretty good, with eggs, a waffle maker, sausage, and continental items. The indoor jacuzzi is broken and now works only as a big bathtub. The fitness room is small, and some equipment was broken or didn’t work properly.
