Carey and her team were so accommodating, even with the hectic planning that came with having a wedding during the pandemic. When bad weather forced us to change several things on the morning of the wedding, Carey even found heaters for the tent so everyone could be comfortable. I'm so grateful for our experience at Daven Haven and can't wait to return for our anniversary. Our friends and family stayed in the cabins, which meant we got to spend more time with them. After the ceremony at Point Park, everyone walked six minutes to the pergola-covered patio for a beautiful outdoor reception, with candles and gas fire pits lighting the evening. We also had a burrito-bar brunch the next morning, which our guests loved. The whole weekend was perfect.

Our cabin, #34, had enough room for two adults and two kids, and the grounds were lovely. Grand Lake still feels like a small town and isn't too touristy. Town was about a five-minute walk away, though I wish the front desk person had mentioned that at check-in. She didn't say much beyond checking that we'd paid, and wasn't very friendly. The one thing that didn't work well for us was the low showerhead and lack of a tub, though we managed with the kids. We recommend these cabins.

We were heading in late after taking a detour and expected to arrive around midnight. A quick call to the office was all it took for the owners to arrange to leave the lights on and put the keys and directions on the main lodge door. Everything was there as promised, and we really appreciated the flexibility. The cabin had a rustic, cozy feel and was perfectly placed, a block from the lakeshore and right by downtown while still quiet. It had what we needed for a romantic weekend of hiking and exploring the national park. I barely used the kitchen, so can't say much about cooking, but it looked well equipped. The small shower had an awkward curtain rod, and there weren't many outlets, which you might expect in a cabin built half a century ago. Those were minor issues for us. We loved the place and would stay again if we come back to town.

We booked cabins at Daven Haven by Point Park, but at check-in were told ours were at the end of the main strip. That wasn't what we'd requested, and road construction meant it wasn't quiet. We stayed in the Big Pine and liked the courtyard in front, where the family could play yard games. We also had dinner at the cabins by Point Park. The food was okay, but they were very understaffed and service was poor. One bedroom floor was so badly sloped that I woke up to find the mattress about a foot off the box springs. The heat went out when the weather turned cold during our week, though someone came around 1-2 to fix it. Bathroom floor tiles were broken, and the grout was coming up. Maybe the cabins at Daven Haven would have been better.

Carey was easy to work with, and the pricing was fair and clear. We had to switch caterers at the last minute for our wedding, and although she was very busy, she still helped us out. The food was fantastic. She could have taken advantage of our situation but didn't. We were absolutely satisfied with our experience at Daven Haven lodge.
