It was quiet, the shower worked, and the bed was nice and firm, which mattered most to me. The hotel’s outdated, but it does the job. I arrived around 3 a.m. after flight delays, and without checking my reservation, the front desk lady said I still had to check out at 11 a.m., even though I was staying four days. The room was big and had a regular closet, but the TV sits between the sitting area and beds, so you can’t see it directly from either side. The sofa is so old it’s time for it to go. Only one elevator worked during my four days, so I had to wait to get downstairs. Breakfast was very sparse, even by the basic standards at these hotels. The place is really old, and the material on the chairs was peeling. Room cleaning is by request only, though I don’t use it often. The towels were old and no longer white. If they have a sign saying medical marijuana is prohibited, you kind of know what kind of customers they get. It was okay.

I come to this hotel every year for a routine business trip, and it’s always clean with friendly, courteous staff. The new employee who checked me in did a tremendous job handling the person ahead of me, who was mildly irritated by a computer problem she couldn’t control. She worked through it really well. The manager on duty was also very helpful and professional. The next day, night clerk Mo was friendly and helpful again. I’ll definitely return.

For over $80 a night, breakfast ought to be better. It was basic, nothing like what they serve at Hilton. The elevators are broken, so you hear people stomping on the stairs from 7-8 a.m. and 6-9 p.m.

Ms. Danyale has been an angel to us. My son and I are missionaries, and we’ve been living out of our car while trusting the Lord to reveal his glory. Inglewood Baptist Church, our secondary church home based in Grand Prairie Texas, gave us a place to just be with the Lord. If you’re traveling through and need a church service or home, I highly recommend visiting Inglewood Baptist Church and Pastor Ricky and First Lady Lynda on on Carrier in Grand Prairie Texas. Their love for God’s people is unmatched. Anyway, while we were at Comfort Inn, all I wanted was to spend time with the Lord and fix my hair. Ms.Danyale asked what we needed and told us everything we needed to know. Ministry is all over her, and she has first lady of a church written all over her. She really cares about guests. I needed a flat iron, and she wrote it on her hand so she wouldn’t forget to bring me one. Then she said I could keep it because she had an extra. It reminds me of Luke 3:11, when John says that if you have two tunics, give one to your brother in need. That’s what she did. I didn’t just see hospitality representatives, I saw a sister in Christ. Comfort Inn helped me see that. Even when it felt like life was falling apart, trusting the Lord never failed us. I’m grateful to serve a God who loves the world so much he gave his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins and save us. Obedience to God can look crazy to people, and following Jesus brings hard hits, but after what my son and I faced for our faith, the Lord led us to Comfort Inn and let Inglewood Baptist Church, Mrs Danyale, and the staff show us love, comfort, and kindness. I wouldn’t trade persecution for anything if I get to later experience the comfort of a loving Father in heaven. I pray anyone who reads this chooses to follow Jesus, fights the good fight, finishes the race, and experiences God and Jesus Christ’s comfort and love in eternity. Comfort Inn showed love to missionaries of Jesus Christ after we were beaten and persecuted for spreading Christ’s love to those who need it in visible ways. Thank you, Danyale, for a love you can’t pretend to have. Keep being an ambassador for Jesus Christ at Comfort Inn and everywhere you go. We love you, and so does Jesus. Amen.
