AC Hotel Grand Rapids Downtown

The staff made this stay for us. Everyone we spoke with was positive, and the morning team, including the person working in the hallway, was great. The night staff member on 11/9/25 was especially helpful: he knew the area and suggested things that made our visit better. I'd come back mainly because of the staff, and I'd recommend it to family and friends. The room was spotless, with clean, comfortable bedding and laminate floors instead of carpet. We heard the occasional thump from a neighbor dropping something, but no other room noise, which felt like a fair tradeoff. Our third-floor room had a decent view of the city and the parking ramp we chose. The location is hard to beat. I walked less to get to an event at Van Andel than I do across my own property. The room was modern and very clean, though a bit spartan, so I may have rated it too generously. One thing puzzled me: when I turned the heat from 72 down to 68 as we were leaving, it kicked on within seconds. I suspect the thermostat may be a placebo. I like 68, my wife prefers 72, and if a thermostat only kicked in four degrees below its setting, I'd replace it.
