Quality Inn & Suites Grants - I-40

I was in town for work and won't be staying here again. The staff were helpful when I found stains on both beds, and moved me to another room. It was better, but the bathroom door was damaged and a dirty washcloth had been left on the shower rod. Both rooms had tired-looking bedding. The Wi-Fi barely reached outside the room, so staff suggested I work in the lobby. That meant hauling my things across the hotel and giving up the comfort of my room. The first-floor rooms are being renovated, which is good, but the cleaning and Wi-Fi problems clearly aren't part of that. The fitness room also needs more equipment and maintenance.

The shower was great, but the room we paid for should have been in better shape, renovations or not. The TV was crooked, and its remote only changed channels. There was no program guide for Direct Tv, and the remote couldn't turn the set on or off. At breakfast, coffee was the only drink available because the drink and juice machine was out of order. We put up with the construction mess, but the rooms open to guests should still be decent.

We were only there for one night, but Delroy's service stood out enough that I had to write about it. He greeted us in the morning, paid attention to everyone, kept the area clean, and refilled the coffee. Such a nice, attentive employee!

The outside looked decent, but the hotel itself was the stinkiest, most run-down place we've ever stayed. The carpet was so old and smelly we didn't want to walk on it without shoes or socks. Bathroom tiles looked new, yet many were chipped, and water damage on the walls and ceilings seemed to have been painted over. There were basic problems everywhere: one outlet had no cover plate, another was crooked, and our door took force to open and shut. A guest in the hallway said she could never get her door open either. The side entrance reader was broken, so they held that door open with a rock. If it was shut, getting to our room meant walking around to the lobby through smelly hallways. Even the crooked doorbell sign and dusty fake plant in the hall added to the neglect. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you can't see or smell.
