Hyatt Regency DFW International Airport - Adjacent to Terminal C

The restaurant prices were a little steep, but the pickup service, check-in, room quality, and convenience were worth the hotel price. We needed one night in DFW after flight complications connected to events in the Middle East disrupted our trip home. Rojelio navigated us from the pickup point to the hotel in about five minutes, avoiding all the traffic. Nick also deserves a shoutout. We were coming back from an extended trip to East Africa with lots of luggage, and I'm somewhat mobility challenged. He noticed we needed extra help, gave us excellent customer service, and drove us to our gate in the VIP vehicle. He was very professional, and we really appreciated his exceptional service.

The exercise room had the best Precore equipment I've tried, and staff were friendly despite being overwhelmed by the crowds. The shuttle was quick with very friendly drivers, HDMI connected easily to my computer, and the bed was good, like most Hyatts. The location is excellent, but this was the most problematic airport hotel I've rated so far. My deadbolt was broken and couldn't be fixed, and the mini fridge froze my drinks even on its lowest setting. The view was disappointing, with over half the outside wall having no window, and the thin connecting-room door let in more noise from inside than outside. Furnishings were dated and need remodeling. A dance contest brought over 1,000 little girls to the hotel, and with some elevators out, getting upstairs took 15 minutes or more. Shower pressure was almost California low. On the first day, the room door battery died and locked me out until maintenance came to fix it. So far this ranks as my worst Hyatt airport stay, though my next stop is LAX Regency, which may end up at the bottom instead.

The room was good and as expected, and the receptionist was cheerful and answered all my questions. A supervisor stood just behind her the whole time without smiling, though, and he came across as creepy. Since the hotel isn't walkable from where I needed to be, the free airport shuttle worked well. I didn't use the outdoor pool because it was winter. I'd stay again if I needed to.

For a large company meeting, check-in and checkout were quick and efficient, and the rooms were nice and well kept. The restaurant and bar had lots of space and a menu with a good variety. I enjoyed the soup and sandwich. Airport construction made arrival a little difficult, especially for some of us driving in at night, but we got there. I'm sure it's temporary.
