Stagecoach Motel

Being close to downtown Grass Valley is the main advantage. The showers were great too. But there wasn't anyone at the front desk during business hours, and it took several phone calls before somebody came to help us check in. The main bedroom light was out, and somehow the heater switched over to air conditioning at night.

The motel manager puts so much care into making guests comfortable. She's compassionate and big-hearted, and you can see that in everything she does. She's a lovely, incredible woman, and makes a real difference to the atmosphere here.

The rooms and grounds were spotless, and the whole team was friendly, outgoing, and helpful. All rooms are non-smoking. I'm a smoker, and stepping outside was no problem. The place has a feeling of stepping back in time. There's a small convenience store a couple of blocks up the road with a great selection. A great, affordable place to stay!

We were traveling through and couldn't reserve a room that night after our vehicle overheated on the freeway and had to be towed. Things got worse when the TripleA guy handled the vehicle roughly and lost our rear tail light. We eventually found it by backtracking, but by then it was too late to book anywhere, so we parked in a pet-friendly dirt area. Early the next morning the owner came out cursing at us, saying we had to move and were trespassing. They were rude and indifferent to our situation. I found the owner disrespectful and discourteous. I would never stay here or recommend it.
