Days Inn by Wyndham Grayling

We stayed with family in December and had a great visit. The rooms were very clean, staff were professional and responsive, and the continental breakfast even had some nice hot choices. I’d recommend it. Also, the Christmas decorations were lovely! 🫶🏻

Everything was clean, and the updates seem well done. The ice machine worked, and the room had all the stuff we needed. Five of us stayed and we all had the same complaint: the pillows were terrible.

The hotel is older and seemed clean at first, but that changed when we checked the bed. The sheets looked slept in and were dirty, with dark fecal skid marks, sweat stains, and greasy spots. We called a manager with pink hair, whose name I didn’t get. She was amazing: she took photos of the bedding and other things that hadn’t been cleaned around the room, apologized, and said she’d leave a note for the morning staff to discount the price. There were no other rooms to move to, so we checked the other bed and stayed. At checkout, the couple at the desk, who we assumed were the owners, read the night manager’s notes, apologized, then charged us the full price and refused to do anything. I wasn’t asking for a free room, but a discount for a dirty room seemed appropriate. I wish I’d taken a picture so people could see how disgusting it was.

It was decent enough, and probably the best hotel around here, but the place feels very dated and needs renovations. The lighting was especially dark throughout. Putting some more money into it would make a big difference.
