Dustin was a huge help. He answered my many questions, found me an extra pillow and flat sheet, and made sure my wife, baby, and I could have a first-floor room. The rooms were great and mostly comfortable, which is high praise given the beds, pillows, and chairs hotels tend to buy. Breakfast was the one snag. The waitress got my order wrong twice, though she was alone and apparently usually works dinner. It wasn’t enough to affect how I felt about the place. Fantastic service overall.

We ate at the on-site restaurant and it was pretty good. I got the Miami burger with steak fries, and it was tasty enough that I didn’t need sauce. The rooms are a little dated if you look closely, but they’re comfortable, and the front desk folks were always helpful. A pretty great stay.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and I really liked the pillow-top mattress. Having Tony Romas on site was a game changer: the food was excellent, and the sports bar and casino made a great place to grab a nightcap and watch a game. Even the lobby sets a nice tone, with bears resting in a beautiful atrium and a hand-painted waterfall.

The beds were clean and comfortable, and our room was quiet. Breakfast was better than dinner, and the waiter there was friendlier. Dinner at the restaurant was pretty bland, though, and the service was just okay. Nobody smiled, and some of it felt unprofessional. We paid extra for a pool view but got a second-floor room right beside construction, even though the hotel wasn’t busy. The online pool photos are played up, especially during the renovations, and the water slide isn’t there. Check-in took a while as we stood waiting for an attendant, and we had the same wait at the restaurant. There’s a lovely big atrium, but the taxidermy around the water feature had cobwebs. Our shower had someone else’s hair at the bottom and on the walls. They’ve made some improvements to the rooms, but the details still need attention: the drop-zone frame isn’t square, and some paintwork is rough. This place could impress, and I hope it improves after the renovations.
