Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott® Green Bay Southwest

We stayed four nights for the Ryder Cup golf tournament. This older Fairfield is well run, with very nice staff and a very good breakfast for a Fairfield. The room was clean and the shower excellent, though the TV worked poorly, which seems odd these days. Our top-floor room down the hall was quiet, but avoid rooms near the elevator because it’s noisy as it opens and closes. The hotel’s in an excellent location and is worth staying at for Marriott’s high standards.

The hot tub was wonderful after several days of walking, though it really needed cleaning. Breakfast was good, and the hotel is close to everything, but doing laundry there was expensive, so it was easier and cheaper elsewhere. We asked for one room refresh, but they didn’t vacuum and left cracker crumbs on the floor. The front desk clerk on the 3:00pm - 11:00pm shift was just rude. Our flight was delayed eight hours, and even though I kept the hotel updated, I was told I’d still be charged for the night. A family member who works for Marriott spoke to the morning shift manager, who said the person who sent that message was misinformed and that our rate was incorrect. They took care of it, but that evening clerk was bad enough that they really need someone else on that shift.

On my first visit, they took great care of me, and I loved having access to the pool and hot tub 24 hours a day. I came back hoping for more on a longer stay, but this time the bed was very uncomfortable and the room was quite different. The breakfasts were horrible, except on the weekend from the game. The staff were nice, but our room was cleaned only once even though we asked for more service. I’ll absolutely be back.

We were celebrating a family event, and really appreciated all the attention from the staff. They handled every service request courteously and efficiently. Being able to reserve the pool in one-hour increments worked wonderfully for the whole family. Marriott found a way to keep people safe during the pandemic while still providing the usual amenities, including breakfast prepared on request. We’ll keep staying at this hotel and other Marriott hotels when we’re in the area. Thank you.
