Best Western Plus Greenville I-385 Inn & Suites

We felt safe here, and the breakfast was good. There are endless dining options within a mile or two, and the hotel is convenient to the interstate with plenty of parking. It’s nicely updated, and the rooms were actually clean and looked like the pictures on the website. One of the nicer hotels we’ve found lately. Highly recommend!

I was in South Carolina for a business trip, and this was one of the nastiest, most disappointing hotel stays I’ve had. My first room smelled awful, like something had died and someone tried to cover it with air freshener. I asked to move. In the second room, there was thick dust, mold inside the AC, and mold along the floor corners. I requested another room, but they said maintenance would check it the next day. Nobody came. When I followed up, they told me to get Windex and disinfecting wipes from the gym and clean it myself. I paid for a hotel, not housekeeping. I found more mold under the kitchen sink, in the bathroom, and on some furniture while trying to clean enough to get through the stay. There was chipped paint too, and the kitchen area was beat-up and dirty, nothing like the nice online photos. Whoever took those pictures deserves an award, because the reality was a straight-up catfish. I would have checked out earlier, but I was traveling for work with a ton of bags and no easy way to move everything again. Nobody offered another room or a real fix, and the staff acted like it wasn’t a big deal. Afterward, customer service offered just 10,000 points, worth about $50. That’s insulting after I spent over $500 to sleep in filth and breathe mold. This hotel used to be decent, but it’s gone downhill. The odor, dirt, mold, and lazy management made it feel like nobody cared about guest comfort. Stay somewhere else. This place isn’t worth your health or money. In response to the owner, don’t worry, it’s your hotel. To clarify, the “kitchen” area I described was a wet bar setup inside the suite, with a sink, counter, and mini fridge. I uploaded photos with my receipt confirming that my stay was 100% at this property. Before management keeps denying guest experiences, maybe address the health and cleanliness issues people are paying full price to deal with.

I love Best Western, a nice, clean, comfortable place. Kaylie at the front desk is the best I’ve met. She’s fairly new but knows a lot about her job, and she was helpful, had a great attitude, and did everything she could to accommodate my stay. I really appreciate it. Other customers were saying great things about her too. With her working there, I’ll definitely be back.

We enjoyed our stay. The decor was nice, the facilities were clean, the mattresses were comfortable, and the staff were pleasant. Even with heavy traffic, the complimentary breakfast was well managed. My one complaint is that the elevator opens into the pre-lobby without any security to limit access. I’d recommend adding card reader access for guest security.
