Our rare night away as a couple fell apart before it even started. We have three kids and four animals between us, and home can get chaotic, so we were looking forward to a date night and a nice room. I booked through booking.com on Monday for Saturday, then called Friday morning to confirm and ask about the deposit. Everything seemed fine, and we'd already arranged care for the kids and animals. At 8 o'clock Friday night, someone who was either a manager or reception called to say I couldn't stay because I live within a 50 mile radius. That was the night before our booking. Since it was nonrefundable, he said he couldn't return my money and that I'd have to try for a refund through booking.com. He said he'd authorize it if they contacted him, ending with, "I just didn't want you to get here tomorrow and be upset." A call at 8 the night before wasn't much better. booking.com contacted the hotel, but apparently the person who could authorize the refund had left for the weekend, so processing couldn't even start until Monday. Our date night was ruined, and we didn't have the money back to book somewhere else or do something else we might enjoy. I'm sure the hotel itself may be nice, but this policy is ridiculous. Taking so long to contact me was poor management, and the customer service showed little empathy. The whole thing seemed super shady. Maybe it's odd to rent a room in your own town, but what mom of (many) doesn't want to wake up after a date night without having to take care of the house? I felt treated like a street walker.

The check-in went well and the room was clean, but I wouldn't come back unless I could be sure of getting my chosen room type on the top floor. The people above us stomped constantly until 1:00 am, then started again at 6:00 am. We called the front desk, who said they'd contact them. If they did, it didn't help. Worst night's sleep ever. There was a coffee maker and a pouch of coffee, but no sugar or cream.

Trey made us feel so welcome when we arrived. He was a delight, and truly the right person for the front desk. We came on Christmas Eve to surprise my Sister, who was and still is in hospital, and my dad, since the hotel was just down the road from where she lived. We stayed through December 28, 2025, and the hospitality was awesome. It was my first time there, while my Ma had stayed three times.

The beds were comfortable and the room was really nice, but the walls don't block much sound. At 6am the neighbors were yelling with their TV turned way up. I wasn't happy about it.

I've stayed here twice, both times at short notice. Endia was amazing on my first visit and treated guests like her own family. On my second stay, my room was atrocious, but Trey quickly accommodated me and didn't make me feel bad for asking for what I needed. I hope they both get great Christmas bonuses and have a prosperous 2026.
