I got just one key at check-in, then the next day they charged me $10 for another key for my wife. I watched them give another person a second key the day before without charging anything. I can only think I had to pay because of the color of my skin. The sign outside advertises a room with a kitchen for a week at $319, but the price was whatever they decided to charge. Mine came to over $480. For the week, I got only one roll of toilet paper and one set of sheets and towels, which I had to wash myself.
The rooms are decent for what you pay, and the staff are helpful. It’s generally quiet and nobody bothers you. Maintenance can be slow, though I don’t know if that’s because they’re short on workers or have bigger issues to handle.
I’d been there ten days without a change of bed linen. My paperwork said housekeeping came every Thursday. I prefer to be present when anyone enters my residence, to protect both sides from accusations. Nobody came Thursday, so I went to the office just before closing. The manager on duty said the new staff hadn’t finished their background checks, but the regular crew would come Friday. No one showed Friday either. On Saturday I asked a different manager when the sheets would be changed and explained what had happened. She said housekeeping wasn’t done on Fridays. I told her I’d waited two days and wanted to be there when they came. She replied that they didn’t have to tell us anything and could come in whenever they pleased. I asked for clean sheets so I could change them myself, but she refused to give me any. When I repeated that I’d been there and needed clean sheets, she argued, repeated her position, and asked why I was still standing there. I said there had been a communication breakdown and I expected better. She told me they wouldn’t extend my stay any further. This hotel is drug and cockroach infested, and I hadn’t complained about the broken stove or phone. As a senior, disabled veteran, all I asked for was clean sheets.
London greeted me pleasantly at the office and got me checked in right away. I was thrilled to find the room so nice and clean, with a note from Kayla the housekeeper wishing me a good stay. Kayla and Sarah did a fantastic job keeping the room set up for me, and London was always pleasant. The value is well above the price. I’ll definitely return and recommend it.
I stayed here for a few months while I was waiting for housing, and I was comfortable the whole time. The front desk staff were kind and amazing. Thanks again, I had a wonderful stay.
