Stanton House Inn

wow, what a pleasure staying at Stanton. breakfast has a really fresh, inclusive selection that seems suitable for everyone. People greet and welcome you when you check in, and that feeling carries through the whole stay. It's a great way to meet new people, too. The pool and outdoor seating are great. I've been back every summer.

Our recent visit turned into two days of staycation while we waited out the big snowstorm on the last weekend of January. I expected to be bored, but our room was snug and cozy, and there was room to lounge by day and wander around at night in the two living rooms and dining room. The extended stay wound up being deeply restful. Kate, our host during the snow days, deserves a special thanks. She's dedicated to her work, sweet and lovely, and adds a little magic. For years, Stanton House has been our base for seeing family and friends in the greater New York area, as well as the occasional romantic getaway. Each visit has been satisfying. SHI strikes a good balance between privacy and service, with enough care to keep us comfortable without getting in our faces. Lately, it's moved in our minds from good to great.

The included breakfast is delicious, with cereals, bagels, muffins, and made-to-order options like frittatas, eggs, and avocado toast. Snacks and soft drinks are included too, and available day and night. The reading rooms have newspapers, magazines, and books, and the staff are happy to suggest things to do nearby or places to eat. I'm a returning guest, so I've stayed in several of the different bedrooms. They're all spacious, traditional, well furnished, and have comfortable beds. The Inn is surrounded by trees and just a short walk from Greenwich town. I love the homey feel and look forward to coming back.

The stay was peaceful and comfortable. Our room felt private, and we hardly heard other guests. Everyone we met was pleasant and kind, which made the visit even better. Check-in was quick, and we felt welcome right away. The room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. Stanton House Inn has plenty of charm and history, and it's clear the owners care for its character. It's among gorgeous homes, next to a great coffee shop, and only minutes from shopping in Greenwich. We truly enjoyed our visit and would recommend it for a relaxing getaway or a trip to explore the area.
