Red Lion Inn & Suites Grimes

That steaming hot spa after a downtown Des Moines business meeting was exactly what I needed. I’d picked Red Lion Inn & Suites for its advertised amenities, and the whole stay felt more like an upper-tier hotel despite the budget-friendly price. Booking online was easy, and being able to pay when I arrived was especially convenient. The staff were attentive, too. Three different people checked in with me during my stay to ask how things were going and whether I needed anything. I also learned that the aerial photo in the hotel advertising was taken by a very satisfied guest, a pilot from Hawaii who was visiting Des Moines for business. After staying here, I can see why he wanted to capture it. Highly recommended.

The front desk manager was extremely kind and accommodating, and my room was comfortable and well cleaned. I was here for two nights on a work trip, and the location was close to anything I needed in town. I’ll definitely come back for future business travel.

We held a birthday party at the hotel recently, and the staff made the whole celebration run smoothly. From the moment we arrived, they were welcoming, outgoing, and glad to help. Everyone felt at home, and thanks to their hospitality the party was a real success. We couldn’t be happier and would highly recommend the hotel for a special event.

The price was great, the rooms were really clean, and the amenities matched what was advertised. The staff were top notch and very accommodating, so I’d definitely recommend staying here. My only reason for not giving the room five stars is that I’m used to a softer bed. I’d absolutely stay again.
