Super 8 by Wyndham Groton

There’s plenty of parking, it’s well lit at night, and the staff were friendly. The rooms are clean and fine, with good quality shampoo and body wash. The halls, though, reek of weed. It was quiet at night and I had no trouble with noisy neighbors. It’s within a 5 min drive of the highway, Walmart, a 24hr CVS, and fast food places. For the price, it’s great, and I’ll definitely stay again.

My room reeked of weed and other stuff most nights, and a few times I had to go outside just to get some fresh air. The hotel feels like it’s crumbling and seems fully booked most nights by “smokers.” Laundry was broken the whole time I stayed. Breakfast was old coffee from a pot and a stale pastry in a bag. Staff didn’t care about the noise or smoke.

I’ve never seen this many problems in one hotel at once. The toilet had a round front, but the seat and lid were for an elongated bowl. A quarter of the vanity top shown had 14 burn marks, even though it’s a non-smoking hotel. The carpet was stained, torn, and wrinkled, there was literally a hole in the wall, and the nightstand looked like it had been ripped out of another wall somewhere. The desk chair looked like something picked up while waiting for the garbage collector.

The place was pretty quiet and nice otherwise, but the front desk woman was extremely rude throughout my stay. I was just trying to charge my phone and catch up on the morning news when she came over yelling at me multiple times. Both days I stayed, she even grabbed my arm and told me to get up. Retraining front desk employees and not accusing or assaulting paying customers would be a good idea. An extremely rude woman.
