Ramada Groton

I keep staying here because it feels comfortable, quiet, and peaceful, and it’s very clean. The front desk customer service is great. There are restaurants less than a minute away and Walmart across the street. I’d recommend staying here.

The rooms were quite clean, and the hotel has a real breakfast. I enjoyed making hot waffles and having orange juice one morning, and they also had bagels with cream cheese, which was a nice touch. Part of the property is being renovated. It’s better than some nearby hotels, though still not great. I stayed a couple of nights. When the hotel isn’t full, you might get a peaceful night, but I heard loud scooters outside, honking, and bangs through the neighboring walls. It didn’t leave me truly sleep deprived, at least.

It’s close to I-95 and other shopping areas, and the beds were comfortable in clean rooms. The decor felt mismatched, though, and the sweet smell was overpowering. Water drained slowly from the sink, and you had to hold the toilet handle down to flush. The elevators weren’t working, and the basement breakfast room felt depressing. The place could use a more thoughtful update. I wouldn’t return.

We paid $175 for a room that looked and smelled filthy, and it seemed like people had smoked in the hotel. The only chair had burn holes, the bathroom ceiling was stained, and its ceiling tiles were crooked. I’m quite sure people live there full time. I’d never recommend it or stay again. I’d give it zero stars if that were an option.
