Wingate by Wyndham Augusta I-20

The man at the front desk was really kind and switched us to another room, but that one was even worse. I have photos from both rooms, and the bathrooms are full of mold. I can't tell what else might be growing there, but you can see it in the pictures. The place looks nice overall, but the bathrooms are disgusting. I was trying to give it another chance, but we left.

The shower doors were sturdy, the bathroom was clean, and the room was spacious with a comfortable bed and charging ports for phones. The location was good, and the front desk staff were pleasant. Our smoke detector started beeping because of a bad battery, but they fixed it within minutes. Breakfast was skimpy, and the coffee was mediocre. The shower and faucet water were warm, not hot.

We got a call at 1:30 AM, when we were an hour away, saying they'd given our room to walk-ins and were cancelling our reservation. We'd called three days earlier to say we'd arrive after midnight, and they confirmed the room. We had booked months in advance. I can't speak to the rooms or location, but don't book here if you need them to honor a reservation.

The staff made the two-night stay stand out. From check-in through checkout, the front desk were knowledgeable and efficient, housekeeping was thorough without getting in the way, and management was visibly around making sure things ran smoothly. I stayed in room 219 at the newly rebranded Wingate By Wyndham. The refreshed room was spotless, with a comfortable bed, modern fixtures, and the amenities I needed. Everything felt new and well kept. Parking was plentiful, and the location made it easy to get where we needed to go. Complimentary breakfast had several hot and cold choices and was better than I expected. It feels like this hotel has put real effort into offering a quality stay at a reasonable price. I'd recommend it to friends and family, and it's worth considering if you want comfort and great service.
