The Sisters Place

The ocean is the reason to rent this place. A couple of rocks or islands break up the view, and the waves are quiet enough to lull you to sleep. The house is spacious, comfortable, and peaceful. Its open layout lets you keep the water in view while cooking and stay part of the conversation. The furnishings are modest for the price, which is really paying for the scenery, but I’d come back. Coasting Homes, the property managers, were easy to work with. A few things to know: the WiFi is slow, which could be a problem if you need to work on a computer or stream movies. One bathroom has a very low toilet, fine for little kids but awkward for adults with long legs. The driveway is steep and narrow, as the listing says, and there’s no street parking, so don’t book if you’re not comfortable backing down a driveway. Large vehicles fit: we had a Ford Excursion and a medium SUV with no trouble. Parking in the garage is another handy option.

The owners look after the house and have it stocked with decent pots and pans. It has a beautiful location and a great view, and would suit a romantic getaway or the whole family. If I had the money, I’d buy it. I know it was recently on the market.
