The staff were very friendly. I wanted to mention the room problems at checkout, but they were mopping the office and the fumes were overwhelming, so I cut my goodbye short. I had a ground-floor single queen, with easy access right off Main St. The bed was comfortable. Cleanliness was an issue: a few cobwebs, a poorly swept floor, dirty baseboards, and lots of gouges in the walls. It looks a bit run down, though it's a budget hotel. The sign out front says "Smart and Luxurious." The shower drain backed up a few inches in the pan, and the cold-water faucet leaked and sputtered. The toilet leaked and refilled every 20 min. Road noise was noticeable even early in the morning, though it wasn't too bad if you're a heavy sleeper.

Studio 9 was a really nice room, and I enjoyed my stay. You can walk to downtown Fort Bragg or Glass Beach in about 10 minutes either way. Having a breakfast place right in the parking lot was convenient too.

The location is decent, near downtown and within walking distance of glass beach. Staff were friendly and made check-in and checkout quick and easy, but the stay was a big disappointment and not worth the extra money for our room. There were stains on the sheets and pillowcases, and when we pulled the covers back, the blankets were covered in black hair, like someone had gotten a haircut in the bed. The shower floor was slick with soap or conditioner, and clumps of someone's hair were stuck to the walls. The bed was badly worn down, so sleeping near the edge meant you'd roll off. The fitted sheet didn't fit properly and popped off whenever we sat or lay down. Curtains blocked the A/C unit, so it couldn't cool the room, which got extremely stuffy even with the windows open. There's no breakfast, just coffee.

Sept 2025. The front desk person was nice, and I told them about the room problems. Still, the room wasn't what I expected: it was very basic, smelled bad, and the nightstands and drawer-pull hardware were coming loose. There was a bug in the bed that crawled up my arm while I was asleep. The bathroom light was out and the towel rack was loose from the wall. For an ADA room, it had a tub instead of a walk-in shower. When turned off, the shower heads shot water straight up.
