Guerneville Lodge

A lovely quiet feel all around, with beautiful views from this atmospheric hotel right at the edge of the Russian River. The staff were outstanding too, friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. A great spot to unwind and enjoy the area.

Al makes this place special. He’s an incredibly generous host, and the rooms are simple but really comfortable. There’s just one rule for using the balcony hot tub: be considerate of the other guests. That same thoughtfulness carries into the shared kitchen and gives the whole property a special feel. I can’t wait to return.

We needed somewhere at the last minute and arrived at midnight, so it was a relief how quick and easy it was to get settled. The house was comfortable, with a big, beautiful fireplace, a fully stocked kitchen, and even a kitchenette in our room. There’s a hot tub, tables around the property, a river view, and lovely acreage. AL was so kind and interesting, and told us stories about his past business and how he got the lodge. He showed us around the houses and rooms and said to enjoy ourselves while respecting the other guests. I wish we’d had a few more days to explore everything. It’s so beautiful, I’d even want to have a wedding here.

Room 3 was on the small side, with a firm queen bed and a big tub for soaking, but no shower. There’s a large fridge and a counter with a double burner, and the shared kitchen is open for guests to use. It’s a cute, rustic cabin right on the Russian River, with a spacious backyard where kids can play games. Al lives here with his wife and was a friendly, caring host. He even made us breakfast in the morning. Check-in is after 3 p.m. and checkout is at 11 a.m. There aren’t many major amenities, and there’s no TV in the room.
