The Inn at Tomichi Village

ITV really feels like our home away from home. My kids can hardly wait to jump out of the car and say hi to Letty and her dogs when we arrive. Letty feels like family to us, and she remembers little things, like which breakfast items the kids enjoy. The breakfasts are AH-mazing. She, the front desk manager, always goes out of her way to make sure we have what we need. Ale, Bodie, Barb, and the hospitality trainees who rotate in from other countries have all been a pleasure to meet. Thanks, Letty and company! We bring the family here 6-8 times a year for weekend getaways. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, and we’re close to the things we like doing around Gunnison and CB: fishing at Roaring Judy, concerts at I-Bar Ranch, and hiking near Gothic. The kids love the pool and hot tub. We’re already planning our next trip.

The homemade walnut cinnamon buns were delicious, and the staff were friendly. The lobby was comfortable, and there’s a nice outdoor place to sit. Rooms were clean, updated, well equipped, and really comfortable. One of the best three-star hotel stays I’ve had in a long time.

There was hot water, and the fire pit area is nice, though there wasn’t an evening fire. The rest of the stay was rough. The carpet was so dirty it turned my socks black, the bathroom floor was sticky, and there were ants, mold, and mildew around the tile. The beds were lumpy and need replacing, and everything looked last updated in the 90s. Turning on the A/C meant standing on the bed. The heat smelled really bad. This is definitely a roach motel.

The kids had a great time in the pool and hot tub, and the water was very clean. Breakfast and coffee were pretty good. Our only complaint was that the room’s A/C was loud.
