We spent a lot of time at the pool, which was nice, though colder than I like. It had only just started warming up and we'd had so much rain, so I think it was just bad timing. The kids' dad and my oldest fished the whole visit, and we already had Alabama fishing licenses. A game warden stopped them and my stepdad to ask about theirs. Since this is a tourist spot, I think they may assume people fishing from the hotel shore are visitors without licenses and give out a lot of tickets, so be careful. We still had a great stay, and can't wait to come back to Guntersville, hopefully when the pool is warmer. The lake view room was absolutely worth it. I could see the water from bed, and it's beautiful. The rooms felt homey, with small kitchen suites, nice bathrooms, and comfortable mattresses. Breakfast was free and really good. We could walk to restaurants, a bar, and Kilwins for treats, so we didn't need to drive anywhere. The front desk ladies were very nice the whole time, and they provide nice towels for the pool.

The app made check-in and checkout completely painless. Parking was easy, with plenty of wide spaces that fit a full-size truck. We could walk to several places to eat and stroll around the lake, so the location worked out great. The rooms, including the bathroom, were spotless. Staff were friendly and helpful whenever we needed anything, and the breakfast had lots of choices. The woman working there was especially helpful.

We came back at 3pm, the stated check-in time, but at 3:30 we were still waiting for the room. Check-out is strictly 11am, so I don't understand why it wasn't ready. I've never had to wait for a room anywhere before. Maybe we caught the maids on break or in the middle of their work, but this was not good.

The view was great, and the Home 2 Suites rooms were spacious, clean, and set up well for a longer stay. Staff were courteous and friendly. Restaurants, entertainment, and shopping in the City Harbor district are all within walking distance.

It's easy to see why Home2 Suites by Hilton Guntersville is my favorite place to stay in the area. The lakeside spot at City Harbor is beautiful, with outdoor seating, fire pits, restaurants, and an ice cream shop nearby. The rooms are comfortable and roomy, and the kitchen means you don't have to eat out every meal. It's always clean and welcoming. The breakfast is great, especially the egg bites. The team has had many of the same people since the hotel opened, which says a lot about how well it is run. Josh, the GM, is welcoming and quick to sort out problems. When I had trouble with a third-party reservation, he went above and beyond to fix it. I'll absolutely stay here again.
