Comfort Inn Gurnee near Six Flags

The manager, Jay, helped make the place feel comfortable. He checks that everything is going smoothly during and after our stay, asks if we need anything, and says he'll resolve any issues. He really wants guests to enjoy their stay, and I appreciate that. I also love how close the location is to the mall. I really enjoyed staying here.

The rooms feel cozy, and there's plenty nearby for a bite to eat or some shopping. I love the atmosphere here. Jay, the manager, checks in regularly to see how my stay is going or whether anything is bothering me, and he says he'll take care of it until I'm satisfied. I'd love to come back. I paid for an executive suite, but it hadn't been cleaned at all. There was hair on the bed and beneath the sheets, poop stains on the mattress, toilet paper pushed into the peephole, food wrappers under the couch, and food on the floor. The building is supposed to be 100% smoke free, yet it smelled like marijuana from the front desk up to the 3rd floor, where my room was. I checked out right away and didn't stay.

Check-in was easy, the rooms were clean, the hotel was fairly quiet, and the bed was comfortable. The staff were nice and helpful. I took off a star because the bathroom was somewhat dirty, though manageable, and the complimentary shampoo and conditioner weren't filled. Neither issue was a big deal or made me feel disgusted or uncomfortable.
