Quality Inn Hackettstown - Long Valley

The location was the one good part for me, and I wouldn't stay here again. The carts for taking luggage to the rooms were broken. Each day, the apple juice was unavailable, marked only by an upside-down sign. I tried three yogurts, each with an October 22 2025 expiration date, so they should still have been good, but they were watery, which made me wonder if something was wrong with the refrigeration. The woman working at night was very nice. In the morning, the man wore jeans and a sweatshirt, with no name tag. Based on hotels I've stayed at, I expected staff uniforms, and I couldn't tell he worked there. While I ate breakfast, he kept staring at me. I asked if he needed anything from me and he said no. Maybe I wouldn't have thought much of it, but I was wearing shorts and felt really uncomfortable. Maybe another place will have better luck and better morning staff.

I was there for only a few hours, but had a great stay at your motel. The room was just right, and Vrj at the front desk gave wonderful service. Thanks for everything. I'll stay again in the future.

The staff and other guests were all pleasant, kind, and respectful. Some of the problems I ran into could probably have been sorted out if I'd mentioned them. The TV worked, all the lights were fine, and the place looked clean. Having a microwave and fridge was a nice touch. For a last-minute booking, it was exactly what we needed, maybe even better. The room was hot when we arrived, around 75 or more despite the thermostat being set to 66. The AC was blowing air that felt cooler than the room but not cold. It stayed hot the first night, and setting the AC to 72 didn't help. The tub faucet dripped the whole time and likely needs fixing. After we closed the blinds and lowered the AC to 67, it did start blowing cold air. The wall thermostat's battery was low, which might explain why the unit wasn't working its best. Since summer was just beginning, temperature trouble didn't surprise me, and I got by. I could have spoken up about these issues.

For the price, this was a great place to stay. The room was fairly clean and kept up adequately. Breakfast was about on par with what you get at hotels charging twice as much a night. Very good value.
