Super 8 by Wyndham Hagerstown/Halfway Area

The rates for a night are unbelievable. After three weeks in nearby hotels, this is the one. Nicole at the front desk was friendly, polite, accommodating, and easy to talk to. The staff overall are great, parking is great, and breakfast has lots of variety. It's genuinely pretty good, not the cheapest stuff they could buy. The rooms are spacious but could use more outlets, so bring a splitter if you need one. It's not a tall building, so I get why there's no elevator, but you really notice how much you miss one. One last gripe: when the coffee runs out, that's it, no more coffee. Wyndham title deserved! Warning: don't go to the wrong Super 8. Everything is awesome.

The dog walking area was excellent, and the bed was comfortable. There weren't any healthy breakfast choices, and the carpets and bathroom could use updating. A loud party was happening next door, but I called the front desk and they dealt with it immediately. A great place to stop on a long trip.

The room was filthy, with roaches crawling around and dirt and grime everywhere. It clearly hadn't been maintained. Staff were rude and dismissive, treating guests like a nuisance, and management wouldn't address even basic complaints. I've never had such awful service or stayed in such a disgusting place. I regret every minute of it. If hygiene, respect, or just a normal human experience matters to you, stay far away. It felt unprofessional and unsafe, and was completely unacceptable. That manager isn't doing her job. I don't even think she knows what she's doing.

We got a King suite with a hot tub, and it was spacious and very comfortable for the price. The front desk staff were nice and quick, and breakfast was adequate. The location can be tricky, with several truck stops nearby and a lot of traffic. The hallway smelled like Marijuana, but that's how all of Maryland smells now. If you need more food than breakfast offers, there's a McDonald's nearby.
