Harbor View Inn

The rooms were cute, but checkout turned into a mess. About an hour later they started trying to charge my card for towels they said were stained. I don't agree they were, but was willing to pay the $30 they quoted for two towels. I asked for an itemized receipt and never got one. Then they tried charging $100, and when I called, she denied it even though I could see the transaction on my phone. She said they'd put me on the DO NOT RENT list unless I paid for the towels, which I had already agreed to do. They kept trying different amounts, and when I again asked for a receipt so I could pay without more unexplained charges, she hung up on me. Emails to resolve it have gone nowhere. Don't stay here. The picture below shows the attempted charges, with no explanation.

I arrived at night only to be told my room had been rented out, there were no rooms left, and my reservation had been cancelled. I still haven't received a refund. If you book here, you MUST call to confirm.

They were so warm and attentive, and went out of their way to make things comfortable for our family, including our infant. The owners were exceptionally kind. We'll absolutely return for years to come.

Harbor View Inn at Pillar Point / Half Moon Bay is a cozy, clean place and a good value, though it's not a luxury stay. Pillar Point Pier is an easy short walk away, with a great seafood restaurant. There's a boutique cafe right next to the Inn and a distinctive BBQ bar-&-grill across from it. The Inn also sits between Half Moon Bay town to the south and popular beaches to the north, just minutes by car or about 20-25 minutes by bike, depending on your pace. You can also follow the coastal trail in either direction to see more sights. Gladly recommend it.
