The room was filthy and noisy, and the place was completely mismanaged. When I finally got into my room, the bedding was stained, furniture was broken, and the AC didn’t work. The walls were so thin I could hear every word and song from next door while people partied until 4:30 in the morning. I barely slept. The man at the front desk was rude as soon as I arrived. The website clearly lists check-in at 1 p.m., but the rooms weren’t clean when I showed up then. I came back at 2, and he said it would be a few more hours. I’ve stayed in cheap motels, but this was a $350 Canadian disaster that should honestly be shut down. I considered sleeping in my car because it seemed cleaner and safer. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else. I wouldn’t return even if they paid me.

I can’t explain how frustrated I was. I was travelling with my son and two other father-son pairs, coming from Canada to see the bills play. We’d reserved two rooms in April for September, and after confirming the reservation three times, including on the morning we were due to arrive, I showed up and was told there was no reservation. There were obviously no rooms available anywhere near orchard park, so we ended up finding a motel an hour away. They offered me a room at a different location for $500, which was a 300% increase over what my reservation cost. Save yourself the trouble and don’t stay here. Do not give this place your business.

The bathroom sink had pubic hair in it, the bedspread had yellow stains, the toilet wouldn’t flush, and the whole room smelled like cigarettes. We’d driven five hours and only stayed about ten minutes before trying to get our money back. The owner refused. I wouldn’t book here, since you may not get a refund if you decide you can’t stay.

We only found out there were no towels after taking a shower, and there was just one pillow for someone who needs a pillow. Before that, we couldn’t find the TV remote anywhere. My boyfriend called the front desk three times and kept being told they’d look for it. He finally had to go to the office himself to get it. We live nearby and wanted to give the place a try. Red Roof in Hamburg may be less aesthetically pleasing, but we found it much more welcoming and reliable.
