Residence Inn by Marriott Lodi Stockton

My father-in-law booked a suite for a family wedding in Lodi. My wife, our infant son, and I arrived about an hour before he and my mother-in-law, hoping to get into the room early so we could care for the baby. The clerk said hotel policy required the booking party to be there in person to verify my father-in-law's card and ID, even though his card details were already on file. I asked whether a manager could make an exception since we were traveling with an infant. The clerk checked, but the manager also said they couldn't help. The manager never came out to explain the decision. I understand that corporate rules exist, but I think a manager should be able to use their judgment. So we waited in the lobby, caring for our son, including changing his diaper in public because the restroom had no changing table. We won't stay here next time we're in the area for a winery visit in Lodi or another family wedding.

For our family reunion, they let us use the lobby for a meet and greet, and there are loads of shops nearby. The hotel also has a pool area with three nice grills guests can use, a gym, free breakfast, and kitchen suites that feel like home. The rooms are modern, the service is friendly, and Marriott's standards never miss. A great choice!

This was our first stay here. We chose it because the Marriott on March Street in Stockton had gone downhill a lot. The Lodi hotel had plenty to offer, with lots of shopping and places to eat nearby.

They were especially compassionate and accommodating during my most recent visit, when we were in town for my Uncle Dad's funeral. I made sure to communicate what I needed and expected, and kindness goes a long way. People reading reviews shouldn't assume the front desk knows what they want, so speak up and communicate. I've been traveling for about 30 years, and The Residence Inn is among my five favorite hotel stays. It was clean and comfortable, the front desk service was great, and the continental breakfast was good. I'd rate it 10 out of 10 and would come back anytime. Manager, please keep up the good training. Your employees are doing an amazing job, which says a lot about your leadership.
