The Park Inn

The meal at the inn was so good that we would have happily eaten there every night. I had homemade butternut squash ravioli, my husband had steelhead trout, and the vegetable sides were just right. We were too full for dessert. We stayed three nights at the Park Inn and had dinner downstairs the first evening. The room was spotless, easily among the three cleanest stays we’ve had, with quality bedding and linens, a comfortable living area, and a lovely wooden desk by the windows. Natural light filled the room, and the windows faced town square, decorated in a classic Christmas village style. The bathroom had plenty of good towels, washcloths, and soaps. The hall’s self-serve hot drink station was perfect for a cozy Christmas visit. We also had a mini fridge, wine glasses, a bottle opener, and robes. I was nervous about traveling the weekend before Christmas for various reasons, but the Park Inn’s hospitality made the stay more restful than we expected. Since it’s a historic inn, we could hear people on the stairs and in the hallway, though it was minimal throughout, and quiet hours were silent. We slept so well on the incredible mattress. We challenged ourselves to try other areas for food, but I hope we can return to the wonderful Park Inn and enjoy beautiful Hammondsport, a lovely place in every season.

We’ve visited this restaurant several times over the past year, and every meal has been wonderful. The staff are great, and the meal quality for the price can’t be beat. Can’t wait to go back multiple times in 2026!

The staff were friendly and attentive, and helped us choose wine. I had steelhead over creamy polenta, cooked perfectly and so tender it melted in my mouth. Others ordered delicata squash, cut into small pieces, breaded, cooked, and stacked into a delightful shape. For dessert, the coffee crème brulee was outstanding, smooth and flavorful with a perfectly caramelized sugar topping. A comfortable place for fine dining.

We’ll be back. The staff were friendly and knew their stuff, and the food was amazing. We loved the shrimp & grits with zucchini, with a generous amount of shrimp and delicious all around. We also ordered the beautiful cut of steak shown, and we’ll be talking about that well-cooked, well-seasoned meal for months. I’m gluten free, and I say this is a place to find great food. Highly recommend!
