Hampton Ocean Resort

We stayed in room #20, the oceanside 2 bedroom penthouse, from 8/5-8/8 with our family of four and two beagles. The place wasn't fancy, but it had what we needed for a relaxed family beach trip. We liked the peaceful grounds, beach, fire pit, and lobby snacks and light breakfast. The new grills were handy too. Staff put out lounges and umbrellas when we arrived and whenever we asked. Donna, the manager, was a pleasure, and Jaiden was very accommodating. Thanks for a relaxing vacation.

The cottage was right on the beach, which was a great location, but the room wasn't clean. There were lots of bugs, dirty fridges and bathroom, and stained towels. The kitchen also lacked basic cooking supplies. Staff didn't seem welcoming and came across as lazy. This place has potential if more effort went into cleanliness and organization, though it felt more like a camping stay. The location made the visit okay, but I wouldn't recommend it.

It feels homey as soon as you walk in. Such a cute place, and the beach is easy to get to from this great location.

We haven't been back in a while, but this place will always mean a lot to us because of the memories we made there. The beach and location are the real draw. You come for the waves, starry nights, and falling in love, rather than the accommodations. The rooms were very basic even in 2011, but we spent most of our time outside, playing on the beach and jumping in the waves late into the night. It also felt like good value for the money. With everything nearby seeming pretentious and overpriced, this spot by an amazing beach near the fancy Hamptons feels like a down-to-earth throwback to what the Hamptons used to be. It'll stay in our hearts.
