Atlantic Sands

I loved having coffee on the balcony in the morning, walking by the beach, and listening to the waves at the end of the day. Atlantic Sands felt warm and comfortable, and I'd happily return. It's right across from the beach, with lovely ocean views and the boardwalk action nearby. Our room was clean, cozy, and had what I needed for a relaxing getaway. The staff were always welcoming and helpful, and free parking was a big plus in this area. The whole stay felt smooth and stress-free. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable place in the heart of Hampton Beach.

The charge for using the shower was successfully reversed, but management also denied that the mold was mold. They later described the black marks on the ceiling as "water spots." I work for a restoration company and regularly deal with mold and people who get sick from it. Remediation can be expensive, but ignoring the problem or pretending it isn't there can cost more. What else might be overlooked at the expense of guests' health? We came to the beach on July 2 and booked the available downstairs two-bedroom apartment so we could watch the fireworks. We had four of our kids with us, and two boys got into the shower. They immediately started coughing and sneezing. My wife saw black mold on the ceiling, which was hard to see, and buildup under the shower from poor drainage and pitch. We told management right away and got a refund. The boys hadn't even finished showering. My wife dried them and took them outside, but after staff saw they'd used the shower, we were charged $50. Management then threatened us if we didn't remove a review we hadn't even written yet. Given all this, I'd tell people to stay away for the sake of their health.

At $250 a night, this place wasn't worth it, beach frontage or not. The room smelled like cat piss, and the AC leaked all over the floor and soaked my boyfriend's clothes. In the second room, one side of the bed had no stand. The shower was tiny and claustrophobic, with water spraying straight at the wall and no way to adjust the shower head. There was shampoo, but no conditioner, and it was cheap shampoo. No hair dryer either. The hotel seriously needs an update for what it charges. I'm very disappointed, won't book again, and wouldn't recommend it. They should refund people or offer free nights until they upgrade the whole building.

The room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Atlantic Sands Hotel is right across from the beach, with amazing views. Great value for a beach getaway, and I had a great stay!
