We came for two nights over New Year’s, and it was lovely to step outside and be right among the shops and restaurants we wanted to visit. The town view from the location is amazing. Our host left delicious snacks and homemade bread for breakfast. The room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully done in a romantic Victorian style. The main downsides were streetlight coming in and train horns passing about every hour. Our host had earplugs for us, and we’d suggest bringing a sleep mask if you need a truly dark room. Friends staying in the Craftsman-style room had a similar visit, though the lights bothered them less. We had a lovely weekend and hope to return.

The host, Michael, really tried to make sure we were looked after. He’d made fresh blueberry dessert bread for us when we arrived. The tall-ceilinged rooms are cozy, in a renovated historic bank right in the center of the Hannibal tour district. It’s definitely an affordable stay.

The Renaissance Room was beautiful, very clean, and had everything we needed. We stayed three nights and found the king bed comfortable, and the room also had a Jacuzzi tub. There’s a train nearby, so light sleepers should use the earplugs provided.

We loved this place and would stay again. Mike, the proprietor, was helpful and brought us homemade bread, yogurt, fruit, and juice. Our Renaissance Room was lovely, just steps from the town center. Java Jive next door was great for specialty coffees, and the Mediterranean restaurant LaBinnah was so good we ate there twice. Everything Mark Twain is within walking distance in this lovely town, including the Mississippi, where we took a riverboat cruise. We had a wonderful two-day stay.

We celebrated our anniversary here, and the room was beautiful with great service in the middle of town. I’d read some complaints about breakfast, but ours was fine: homemade sweet breads, a fruit cup, yogurt, juice, and a 12-cup coffee maker with coffee in the room. Mike was a great host. He even waited for a flower delivery and made sure the flowers reached our room. It was a delightful stay.
