Best Western Plus BWI Airport Hotel / Arundel Mills

At $66 a night through PRICELINE.com, the price was excellent for the area, and I had a pleasant stay. My kids had fun in the pool, although the water was colder than we'd hoped. The pump wasn't working, which I wish staff had mentioned when I asked about the pool before booking. One thing made me uneasy: the owner and general manager knocked on guest room doors to check windows without visible identification or name tags. I would have appreciated a call or heads-up first so guests knew who was at the door.

If this hotel has no fans, I'm dead. It's very clean, with a lovely breakfast spread, and the shuttles, staff, and parking are all great. The restaurant across the street is great too. I'd stay here whenever I'm in the Baltimore area, even if I didn't need to be near the airport.

We stay here often. On this visit we checked in last Thursday ahead of a Friday flight, and the only issue at first was no body wash, which was minor. Nobody told us the 24-hour shuttle had been discontinued. After delays changed our Denver arrival from 10:30 pm to 1 am, we were informed the service was no longer available. We finally got to the hotel around 1:30 am and found four people outside the front door, drunk and smoking pot. Two were on the sidewalk and two on the bench to the right of the entrance. That's not acceptable. I told the front desk person that night and nothing happened. I mentioned it again to the manager at breakfast the next morning, and he seemed to know who they were. I understand the hotel may be housing people who are less fortunate, but drinking and being high at the front door isn't okay. What a welcome for a repeat customer.

This was my worst stay. The sheets and mattress were unclean and stained with blood, and there was no room service with fresh towels or face cloths. I was disgusted and disappointed, especially when the front desk refused to give me clean towels. I was shocked by the poor service. I'll never stay at another Best Western. They lie and provide terrible service.
