Embassy Suites by Hilton Atlanta Airport North

The manager was staffing the check-in desk on Thanksgiving evening and said he'd given his regular staff the holiday off. Hats off to him. The rooms were probably the best we've had from Embassy Suites anywhere in the country, spacious, modern, and thoughtfully laid out. The nightly reception was also the best we've seen, with snacks that put other ES properties to shame. We've gotten used to goldfish and celery, unfortunately. The bartender was attentive and took great care of everyone. Breakfast was excellent too. We had a fantastic stay that evening, then it was a quick drive downtown the next morning to visit the aquarium. We'll definitely look to stay here again on our next Atlanta trip.

We missed breakfast because of an early flight, and I wish it started earlier. Happy hour was great, though, with complimentary drinks. The bartender seemed annoyed and unfriendly, like he didn't want to be there. Everyone else was great, including Shivan at checkout. We were here after a flight delay, and April at the front desk welcomed us so warmly. It had been a bad travel day and she made me feel better. She has a great personality for customer service. The rooms and hotel were very clean and nice. Rooms and service were excellent overall, and I'd highly recommend the hotel.

After years of staying with Hilton, spending far too much on business travel, and even working at a Hilton in college, I expected them to at least let us know what had happened to our car. Instead, we came back from the airport to find two windows smashed. Four other vehicles were hit that same night. The hotel never called us. Staff offered no real help or support. We waited in their parking lot for a tow truck for about two hours, and they sent us away without even an apology. They'd lost our arrival paperwork, and the manager gave me the name Eddie, though I'm not even sure it was his real name. No staff had name tags like most Hilton employees on site and clocked in should. They point to the liability waiver we signed, but they charge for parking on the same platform used to pay for the room. They could have offered reimbursement, but didn't. We were upset that our car had been damaged while parked at their facility, and they acted like we were inconveniencing them. I strongly advise staying elsewhere. They should have called, and the manager could at least have apologized for the incident.

The pool was good, the breakfast area was great, and the woman who checked us in was kind. The bartender also helped me fill my water bottles. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. There's no carpet in the rooms, so if you're traveling with little kids who need a place to roll around, bring a pack and play. I chose the hotel for its indoor pool in late November. The reason for my 3 stars, though, is the $25 parking charge. It wasn't disclosed when I booked by phone or through Concur, which I used to find the hotel. Parking is shared, and I couldn't even use a space marked “hotel.” It is listed on the site, but the third party apps don't comply.
