It's a basic roadside Days Inn in Hardeeville, South Carolina, with no frills or thrills. The room doors open onto the parking lot, and there isn't a central lobby. Rates are reasonable, and access to I-95 is quick. There's dedicated truck and trailer parking. The front desk lady was friendly and check-in was quick, though they require a $50 deposit. The room was decently clean, but I found an old shampoo bottle behind the bathroom door. The non-carpet flooring helped it feel more modern. The shower had decent hot water pressure, but the tub drained poorly. Towels were small, scratchy, and paper-thin. The mattress was so firm it felt almost like a trampoline. AT&T service was awful, thankfully the Wi-Fi worked. It seemed like a safe area, with no undesirables hanging around the parking lot. A train passes on nearby tracks around 7 a.m., so plan on waking up then. I've traveled a lot for work and stayed in plenty of roadside places. On a good day, this Days Inn is a solid three out of five. It's simply okay, not horrible and definitely not great. Breakfast was basically coffee and stale cereal. It's a budget-friendly one-nighter if you're passing through. It serves its purpose as a simple place to sleep before hitting the road the next day. Nothing special. Your mileage may vary.

Long after I checked out, this location tried to charge my card for extra money. When I called for the receipt, the front desk guy told me to speak with the manager. The manager called me back from a Florida number and never sent the receipt. Thankfully, my credit card company rejected the charge attempt.

The room door was a major problem, as shown in the pictures and video. The sink area and floor looked recently renovated, and all the lights worked, but the bathroom fan was so loud we couldn't hear ourselves think, so we left it off. The bed was comfortable, though wiggly and jiggly, shaking like a Jell-O mold on springs whenever either of us moved. There was food left in the fridge from the last guests. Staff promptly sent someone to clean it, and he was sociable and suggested places to eat. We couldn't find anywhere that delivered without using Uber Eats. The extra pillows we got smelled like they'd been stored in a moldy basement, though they'd been washed in bleach, so that was a fun scent. Around 8-ish someone set off a bunch of fireworks. The train was the only thing I liked listening to. The A/C made noise as if it were trying to work, but it didn't cool the room, and it blew out a foul smell. We didn't stay the whole night, just took a nap and left. Again, the staff were nice. It seemed to me the hotel had been given up on and was now trying to clean up its act, but $74 a night was a bit much for the time being.

I stayed five days straight and had a good time. The staff helped me a lot with everything. There are food places you can walk to, the view was good, and the people around there were good too. I'd like to stay here again if I come to the Days Inn at exit 8.

It was good, and the staff were friendly. There's lots of parking, including space to park right in front of your room. They also have a little complimentary breakfast, and staff were there to help me in the morning. The hotel is sooo good.
