Motel 6 Oklahoma City, Ok – Fairgrounds West

I was told my urgently needed room deposit would be back on my bank card in 3-5 days. When the fifth day passed and it still hadn’t arrived, I spoke to the same person and she said she’d forgotten to apply it to my account. Now I’m waiting another 3-5 days, even though it’s already been over a week. I was relying on that money for somewhere to stay, and since it still hasn’t come and probably won’t arrive until NEXT FRIDAY, I’m being forced to sleep outside. She said there was nothing else she could do and I’d have to wait. So I’m left waiting another week, freezing, hoping and praying the money comes through.

The only real plus was how convenient it was, right off Interstate 40. The room was dirty, with roaches and some unidentified bugs all over the bathroom and floor. There were burn holes in the comforter and burn marks on both the bathtub and toilet. There’s nothing here I’d want to take home, so charging a $50 deposit feels audacious.

Take pictures of any damage as soon as you get there, especially on mattresses and furniture. They tried to blame my dog for peeing on one mattress and kept my deposit. I’d photographed that mattress on my first day, and it was already filthy. When I asked to see mattresses in another room to show they were dirty too, they refused. The accommodations were filthy, and I’m disgusted that they’re taking money from people who are already struggling. This is a pet-friendly hotel, but that didn’t stop them from saying my dog ruined the mattress. They use cheap, junk furniture that’s just durable enough to look presentable. If you accidentally bump into something and undo a repair they’ve made, they take your deposit. Document and photograph everything. I feel they’re scamming guests out of their deposits.

The bed was comfortable, which was the one good thing about the stay. Room 134 was supposed to be accessible, but workers had the ramp blocked. The room was beat up and had flies, a roach, and a cricket. There was no water pressure in the shower, so I couldn't wash up. Half the TV channels were in English and half in Spanish when the signal worked. Check-in took 30 minutes even though I had a reservation, and nobody mentioned the $100 deposit when I booked. We stay at Motel 6 properties often, and this was by far the most disappointing. I have pictures showing what I described, and I’ll contact the corporate office tomorrow. I'm not hard to please. I just want a nice bed, a shower, and a decent TV.
