Rodeway Inn

I've never stayed at a worse hotel. The room was so dirty that I immediately bought a blanket and pillow at Walmart, which I'll throw away when I leave. I won't walk on the floor barefoot, so luckily I brought sandals. The cable is out, leaving just 3 channels, and normally that'd be fine, but the wifi is trash. It's slow and won't stay connected, so I can't get my work done. Even while writing this, it disconnected again. The worst part might be what happens when I'm out working. The first day I came back and the air conditioner was off, and thought maybe I'd switched it off myself while getting ready. The second day, I deliberately left the lights, TV, and a/c on. When I got back at 5:30, they were all off, and the room was about 80 degrees. It honestly felt better outside. I'd been told they only come in to clean if I request it, and I definitely hadn't asked. The one staff member I've dealt with was amazing and the only redeeming quality this poor excuse for a hotel has. I don't care where work sends me from now on, I know I won't stay at another Rodeside Inn for as long as I live. I'd rather sleep in my car.

I'd stayed here twice a year without any problems. In my third year, I booked and paid online, but they told me it hadn't been paid. I paid again in cash, then checked a few days later and saw the online payment had come out of my account too. I came back 2 Months later expecting them to make it right, but they denied I'd paid cash. The same people have run the place for years, and the same guy lied right to my face. I'm loyal to people: I've had the same insurance agent, phone provider, dentist, and job for over 30 years. I'll never go back. Thieves.

The bathroom mirror fell off the wall while I was looking for toilet paper, and roaches came out from behind it. There were no towels or toilet paper to begin with. The room smelled strange, had no light switches, and had exposed wires. We were there less than 3 minutes and didn't even bring our bags inside before leaving and asking for a refund. Two weeks later, we still can't reach anyone, so we have to call our bank to cancel the payment.

The woman at check-in was okay, but there were roaches in our room and we had to spray for them. We asked staff not to come in, but they ignored us and came in anyway, then shut off the heat. It was cold outside and snow was on the ground, so why turn off the heat? And why go into rooms on your own after guests have asked you to stay out?
