Crowne Plaza Harrisburg-Hershey by IHG

The parking attendants were excellent and genuinely helpful. The rest of the stay was frustrating. My room was tiny, the shower had visible mold, and the front desk staff I dealt with weren't much help. An Instacart order was left by a building entrance; I showed them the driver's photo, but they only said they'd tell me if someone brought it inside. With my physical disability, I couldn't walk around looking for it myself. Over four nights, they made the bed each day but never changed the sheets, and the in-room coffee wasn't replenished.

I slept well because the bed was comfortable, and the front desk and maintenance staff were friendly and responsive. They dealt with my HVAC problem quickly and offered to move me to another room. The pool was spacious and nicely heated, and the renovated bathroom had good products from Apoteke. The downtown location is handy for walking to the train station. I can't speak to parking since I walked there. The room itself felt very dated, from the furniture and worn carpet to the lights, TV, HVAC, and wall coverings. The equipment was noisy and the HVAC hard to control. It had been unplugged when I arrived, probably by the previous guest because of the clunking. Cleanliness was middling, though not terrible. A satisfactory stay, with the professional staff making a difference.

My family found someone else's #2 in the bathroom as soon as they entered the room. They told the front desk right away, but nothing happened. The booking agency was sympathetic and offered to contact the hotel about compensation, which the hotel declined. I then called and spoke with manager Sean. He didn't start by apologizing; he offered a breakfast voucher instead, then asked if my answer was “yes” or “no.” That came across as arrogant and made me feel the staff and management treat hygiene problems as routine and customer service as unimportant. A very bad experience. Beware!

We arrived to a stained mattress, dirty sheets, and crumbs all over the pull-out couch. The room was so filthy that at 11:00 PM we packed up and had to push for a room change. The manager's response was basically tough luck. Completely unacceptable and very disappointing. The pictures say enough. Don't stay here, find somewhere else.
