Comfort Inn Cockatoo near LAX Airport

The room had a pool view, comfortable beds, a full-size fridge and microwave, a sink area, cable, and room service. There’s a heated pool and a vending machine with quite a few choices, plus lots of places to eat nearby. We checked out early and missed the complimentary breakfast, which was a bummer. Maybe next time. We got a warm welcome as soon as we walked in, and since we were a few hours early for check-in, we hung out in the super comfortable lobby. The woman turned on Spidey for the kids, made fresh lemon-infused water, and had coffee available anytime. The lobby decor was cute.

The Comfort Inn Cockatoo is fairly priced, and you get what you pay for. The hotel layout is odd: our room was on the third floor, way out at the end of a huge loop. It was a decent size for me and my lady, with a king bed, a small kitchenette with a coffee maker, sink and counter, and a full fridge that would work for an extended stay. The bathroom was roomy too, and the tub/shower was big enough for two. The sheets and bedding seemed clean, and the front desk agent was very nice. They easily extended our checkout in the morning, so my experience was mostly positive. The room had a faint foot-powder smell, like sweaty shoes with powder lingering in the space. The jacuzzi jets were really dirty, maybe a bit rusty, so we didn’t dare use them. The shower took an extremely long time to get warm enough, so I’d turn it on well ahead of time. The shower knob came right off, and it didn’t seem to have been screwed on properly to begin with. I’d recommend this place for people who don’t plan to spend much time at the hotel. Save a couple of bucks and enjoy your vacation.

We got in several hours before check-in, and the staff were kind enough to let us into our room early. It was clean and spacious, the bed was so comfy that I slept really well, and I loved the balcony overlooking the pool. Parking wasn’t bad, the pool was clean and enjoyable, and the staff were all super friendly and helpful. The free breakfast items were nice, and I never skip a Comfort Inn waffle. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby for eating out or getting delivery, and being so close to LAX made our travel day home much easier. There was a weird chemical smell in the halls, kind of like wet paint, but it wasn’t bad enough to spoil the stay. The price was really reasonable. If we’re in LA again, we’d definitely stay here.

I spent seven days here while visiting LA. It felt quite safe and was close to the airport. The rooms were clean, staff were friendly, and there were EV chargers in the parking deck. The layout is a little awkward at first, but easy enough once you get used to it. It’s a very clean hotel, and I’d recommend it and stay again.
