That view over Lake Yellowstone is incredible, and the location along its southern edge is hard to beat. Still, our two one-night stays here were the worst of the four places we tried in the park, and we won't return. The rooms were tiny and sparse, with newer furniture but old sheets. One had mold in the shower, the other a broken fridge, and the hair dryer they brought us was broken too. The sheets were ripped, and we could only hope the rooms were clean. We stayed in Antelope Lodge and what we think was Bear Lodge, and neither came close to the standard for the price. On our first visit, the room wasn't ready until 8 p.m. because of a shortage of cleaners. The manager gave us 25% off that night, which was kind of her. A cleaner told me two people were handling 50 rooms. We felt bad for them, especially so late in the season, with closing day on October 5 and so few workers left for all the properties. We don't blame the staff or manager, who were out cleaning rooms themselves. The people overseeing the property seem more focused on other things than guests. It's also disappointing that the company appears not to respond to honest reviews or address concerns. We tried to explain ours here, and they could at least acknowledge them.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, though a little tight, with a good bathroom. They have a hotel layout with hallways, and Grant Village is a very nice place to stay in the park. It's not a four or five star hotel, but the accommodations were excellent for us. Service stayed good even during the first week of the government shutdown. The location deserves ten stars if that were possible. Wildlife was all around, and we even saw a wolf run across the road in front of our building. Everyone should visit Yellowstone, and if they can, stay inside the park.

We stayed two nights after peak season, arriving around 6 or 7 p.m. Housekeeping was short-staffed, so we waited about an hour for the rooms to be ready. The rooms themselves were pretty decent, though still pricey for the off season. There's no Wi-Fi in the rooms, so for email or weather you'll need to go to the front desk. It's a handy base for nearby sights and Grand Teton NP. At night, the stars are incredible, especially if you drive a little way to a parking lot without much lighting.

The tacos at LAKE HOUSE were amazing. It's not the main restaurant, and honestly they're the reason I'm giving this place four stars. We stayed two nights, with a short break between them. Given the price, it was our least favorite lodging of the whole Teton and Yellowstone trip, even though it was really the only option for us. There's no Wi-Fi in the rooms. Our second room was cleaner and nicer.

We arrived a week before the village shut down and found every store closed, with no lodge either. There was no cell service or Wi-Fi except in the reservation and welcome building, where just four chairs were available. I ended up sitting on the floor while looking for options. A family of four checked in and asked where they could get food. The reservation staff member apologized and said they could use the vending machine or drive half an hour to Old Faithful Village. The family bought chips and soda from the machine.
