La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham St. Louis Hazelwood/ North

After our family had a house fire, we came to LaQuinta because it was familiar and nearby. We took two rooms, both spacious, tidy, and nice, and had no problems with the staff. The hotel is in a quiet area near plenty of convenient places. The laundry room was open any time, quick to use, and never crowded. Breakfast in the morning was a big help with the kids. Brandon with the dreads and Ms. Michelle at the front desk were our favorites. They made everything smooth and easy, and provided whatever we needed without attitude or hesitation. A tall man with dreads was also very polite and helpful, though I didn't get his name. Thanks to the staff and company for making us feel comfortable and at home. I highly recommend it, and hope to see everyone again under better circumstances.

The beds, pillows, and rooms were nice, and the front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. There was plenty of parking and the hotel was handicap accessible. Still, I'm not sure the location is the best. The hallways smelled like marijuana, despite it being a non-smoking hotel. Neighbors upstairs let their kids jump off the bed and run around, including around 11 p.m. and into the morning. That's really my only complaint. Breakfast could use some attention too: very limited, with just eggs and sausage, no yogurt, and not much else. I'd stay again.

I stayed March 11-12, 2026, and this is long because there was a lot to say. I slept in my car because I felt so uncomfortable about the place and the strong marijuana odor, and didn't want to get near the bed. There were stains everywhere, and the carpet was old and nasty. The front desk area was run down, which made me wonder how well anything was cleaned. The floor had cracks and potholes near the entrance. A worker was vacuuming on his hands and knees. Repair materials cost about $5 a bag at Lowes or Home Depot, but the entrance still looked damaged. If you want to get high, just stand around and take in the weed smell. That's not for me. The place wasn't ADA compliant and had no accessible rooms or shower chairs. I was able to shower, but found the bathroom worrying. There was crap in the toilet that wasn't mine, so spray alcohol before going in. My hair is very short, and what you see in the shower isn't mine. Take video of your room for your own protection. They seem to do whatever they can to keep the $150 deposit. My receipt listed two people, although I was alone. I guess that imaginary second person might be charged extra. I started this page after Google asked me to, and have been reviewing since Google began. My reviews have 55 million views and 34 million followers. There are items for sale at outrageous prices, even though a Family Dollar, McDonald's, QT gas station, and more are within walking distance. You can get the same things for 80% less if you walk over. Check expiration dates. Look closely at the pictures and videos and make an informed decision, though you may stay anyway. I only got this room to get away from family for one day. I said I'd fire the person who made the reservation, her mother, and her boyfriend the morning after my meeting. There was still trash in the room's bin, so I used my own bag and took my garbage with me, to prevent them saying I left the room dirty.

For the price, I expected a lot better from this La Quinta Inn. Cleanliness was a serious problem: the floor where our room was smelled strongly of weed, the carpet had unidentified stains, and there were marks on the bathroom walls. I found hair in the tub corner, on the toilet seat, and even a long strand in my bed. It made the stay really uncomfortable. Breakfast was only okay, nothing enjoyable. The biscuits were cold, so the biscuits and gravy weren't appetizing, and the eggs didn't look good either. Waffles seemed to be the main choice. I didn't notice sausage, bacon, or potatoes to go with them. The hotel didn't meet basic standards for cleanliness or comfort.
