The place was a nightmare. There was no breakfast, lobby, or waiting area, and the pool was dry and dirty. The rooms had no smoke detectors, and all four I tried smelled like cigarettes. I found roaches and bugs, a filthy bathroom with no towels, old dirty carpet and curtains, bad AC, and no internet. The phone was dirty, and the pillows and sheets had holes from cigarette burns. There was trash left around, and it didn’t look like sheets were changed or rooms cleaned. The photos can speak for themselves. Associates tracked vacant rooms on a small handwritten slip of paper instead of using a computer. When I had gone out and came back, I saw an associate trying to get into the room and looking around. She was Indian. The blond-haired American woman at the front desk was smoking all the time. This hotel should be reported to the health department.
Both rooms had torn sheets and cigarette holes in the paper-thin comforters, and the pillows weren’t even full-sized. In the first room, drawers were broken, there were puke stains on the floor and dirt on the carpet, and we were told the vacuum was broken. The AC didn’t work and had dirt on it. Towels were dirty, walls were split, and half the lamp lights didn’t work. The room smelled of cigarettes and urine despite being nonsmoking. We spoke to a staff member three times in the hour we were there, and each time she was nasty and hateful. We switched rooms, but the second one was worse. We asked for a refund and were rudely told no because we’d been there more than 15 minutes. The fact we’d come down three times and changed rooms didn’t matter. Absolutely disgusting. I’m scratching at my head just writing this. Don’t stay here.
The stairs looked as if people had been using the corners as a bathroom, and I was afraid to touch the walls or handles. Most of the rooms in the back had been shut down for storing replacement items for broken things, yet we were put in a room that was horrifying for our anniversary. It needed a complete overhaul, and the guests seemed to be mostly long-term occupants. Our first room didn’t even have its toilet seat attached. Once you checked in, you couldn’t check out until your time was up, which made this a huge disappointment for our anniversary. Update, 7/8/19: they’re closed. Stay away.
The closed-off pool area smelled like human feces. The rooms had a foul odor too, and were filthy. The sheets had body oil and hair on them, the tub had hair in it, and there was debris all over the floor. We asked to move to a cleaner room and got another dirty one, with no trash cans, washcloths, or towels. This place should be condemned. It’s not worth $50. I’d give it zero stars if I could.
We booked a nonsmoking room two months ahead, but arrived to find a smoking room. The sheets were dirty already, and the replacements we asked for had fresh blood or other unknown stains on them. I don’t think I’ve ever slept somewhere so disgusting. They need to hire cleaning staff. Franchise or not, I’ll never stay at a Knights Inn again.
