The Log Cabin had a back deck, espresso machine with plenty of coffee, a fridge, a lovely bathroom with both a shower and soaking tub, and a cozy fireplace beside a fire pit with all the s’mores fixings. It was beautifully appointed, sparkling clean, and we had the whole cabin to ourselves. Five girlfriends and I were lucky to find Willis Graves B&B in Burlington, KY while visiting The Ark Encounter. I enjoyed the accommodations as much as, or even more than, the attraction. Rick was a gracious host and made us individually ordered breakfasts for three mornings straight. His kitchen felt so welcoming, and we shared lots of laughs and stories there. The dining room was set with Blue Willow china and had everything we could want, from little pots of honey and jam to excellent tea and coffee. When it unexpectedly snowed the first morning, Rick cleared the paths and our car. The B&B is handy to the airport, the Ark, and the Creation Museum. The Tousey House Tavern is a lovely restaurant and bar within walking distance. Stay here, you won’t be sorry!

Our host, Rick, loves people, hospitality, and cooking. Every morning he made breakfast to order, all from scratch, including homemade yogurt and the best cookies we’ve ever had. There was divine spinach and cheese quiche, fluffy blueberry pancakes, thick crispy bacon, and perfect eggs and sausage. We stayed in the Log Cabin with friends, and the Willis Graves B&B made us feel so spoiled we’d make the trip back to Kentucky just to stay again. The whole place was dreamy and comfortable. Our rooms were spacious and spotless, with heavenly beds, a gorgeous fireplace, and sparkling bathrooms. The fire pit was an unexpected treat, with s’mores kits and comfortable chairs for sitting and talking.

We felt looked after like family the whole time, and Rick was an excellent host. He’s new to the property this past year and is doing a great job keeping its historic charm. The property is peaceful and quaint, with a nice fire pit for evenings. Our stay in the Mr and Mrs Graves Suite was a perfect weekend getaway, and we’re looking forward to coming back. The room had a cozy fireplace, s’mores, welcome cookies, and a luxurious newly renovated bathroom with a steam shower and bathtub. Rick made a wonderful breakfast, including homemade yogurt parfait with homemade granola and fresh berries. We’d recommend trying the regional goetta.

The breakfast was delicious, the staff were kind, and Ivy the French bulldog was the cutest. I’m hoping to come back soon. My boyfriend and I stayed one night for Valentine’s Day, and it was perfect. Rick was helpful on the phone when I booked and sent details before and during our stay. We had the Mr. and Mrs. Graves Suite, a large room with a living room, bedroom, and bathroom. The two-person Jacuzzi tub was great for relaxing, as was hanging out by the living room fireplace. Having a private entrance with our own code and no set check-in time worked perfectly since we were coming straight from dinner and didn’t know exactly when we’d arrive. A door led from our room right to the dining area and kitchen. We were surprised at how quiet it was in the morning; we couldn’t hear anyone cooking or talking. It beat any hotel.

Rick was a wonderful new innkeeper, and Ivy, the adorable four-legged innkeeper, made the stay even sweeter. All the charm I remembered from my first visit was still there, with Rick’s hospitality adding to it. I first stayed at Willis Graves Bed and Breakfast three years ago with a group and knew I wanted to return with my husband next time we were in the area. This visit didn’t disappoint. Everything was flawless, and we truly hope to come back again.
