Burdett House Bed & Breakfast

We loved the Excelsior Room, especially the vaulted ceiling, huge windows, and wonderfully comfortable bed with quality cotton linens. The house has been restored with care and decorated beautifully, with thoughtful extras like snacks and drinks always available and a second-floor sitting room. Breakfast was one of the best meals of our trip. David and Ashley were so warm, and David even helped us find an open restaurant on Easter Sunday.

Breakfast was made to order and delicious, and we enjoyed talking with Ashley and Dave. They shared helpful ideas for exploring the area and made everyone feel welcome. Burdett is a handy base, about ten minutes from Watkins Glen and close to many wineries. The inn feels cozy and full of character, with interesting artifacts throughout. Ashley and Dave have kept its historic feel while adding modern conveniences. My husband and I stopped for two nights on our way home from Canada, and it turned out to be such a lovely visit that we want to return and make the Finger Lakes our destination.

Ashley and Dave clearly care about the details, and the place was spotless. We had comfortable accommodations and really good breakfasts during our two nights near Watkins Glen. It’s also well placed for visiting the wineries and the surrounding area. Thanks for making us feel at home. We’ll recommend Burdett House and come back.

Ashley and Dave make you feel like a VIP, with personal attention that goes way beyond what you'd expect. They’re warm, caring hosts and have fun little perks for guests, too. The place is charming and really well equipped, and Ashley’s locally sourced breakfasts are delicious. For me, this is the standout B&B in the Finger Lakes. I’ll remember the stay and come back again.
