The beds are great, and I liked being able to open the windows. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it’s clear they try to keep the rooms clean and comfortable while charging a budget price. Still, basic and economy are the words that come to mind. The buildings are old, neither of the two rooms I’ve stayed in had a working bathroom vent fan, and there aren’t any refrigerators. For a longer stay, it’s $350 a week or $900 a month paid in advance. That’s an incredible bargain for this part of Houston.

I needed somewhere inexpensive to sleep, and this worked perfectly. It was quiet, the room was clean, and the parking lot felt safe. Breakfast was a letdown, just sugary cereal and mini bagels, with no fruit, though the coffee tasted fine. I’d stay again.

The location is good, and it stays relatively quiet considering how close it is to i10. The rooms are clean, including the bathrooms, and the sheets are comfortable. The beds are decent, and the adjustable AC and heat work pretty well. You get what you pay for, but at this price it’s still a bargain. The windows open, which is rare these days. The TVs feel straight out of the 90s or 00s and have only about 35 channels, but that’s to be expected for the price.

I was nervous after reading the awful reviews, but I stayed for a week and had a nice experience for what I paid. Under $40 a night, I wasn’t expecting the Hilton. The room was comfortable, with a place to shower and a TV, and I didn’t see any cockroaches or other bugs. The location also isn’t far from anything.

Check-in was quick and easy, but as soon as I entered the room, it looked unfit to live in. There were bugs crawling on the bed, and the bedspread, sheets, and pillowcases had holes. The shower sprayed in every direction, and the toilet seat wasn’t attached. It was 29 degrees outside, but the heater didn’t work. It was almost completely rusted and in two pieces. The room was freezing because the window wouldn’t shut all the way. The sink worked, at least. I asked for my money back and left.
