The rooms were filthy, and the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. This was one of the dirtiest hotels I’ve ever stayed in, with no exaggeration. The other major issue was how staff treated my assistance animals. I had spoken to two employees before arrival and was told everything was fine. At check-in, they said the animals weren’t real because they “didn’t look like they were,” even though I had proper documentation. Judging an assistance animal by appearance is not legal and shows a complete lack of ADA knowledge. They also changed the deposit requirements and kept our $50 deposit, then insisted the charge was $40 per pet per night. We only learned about that after day two. Dirty rooms, dishonest practices, and discriminatory treatment. We’ll never stay here again and don’t recommend it.

We stayed over Valentine weekend and enjoyed the location. It’s a short walk into town, and you can also take the path along the backside by the river. We had a river-facing suite, which was nice, and did enjoy the stay. The room was okay and seemed clean, as did the bed, but the pillows smelled, so I used my own. The fireplace didn’t work at all, and the water was only warm at best. If you’re picky, I’d choose somewhere else.

We had booked a vrbo for the weekend, but after arriving found it wouldn’t work, so we came here when we saw they had vacancy. The receptionist at the guest counter was really kind and patient with us, explaining the cost breakdown, where the room was, the ice machine, and more. Our room was clean, spacious, and exactly what we needed. The beds were comfortable, there were plenty of towels, and we had enough room to move around without getting in each other’s way. The fridge was clean, and the chair was a nice touch. I moved it by the bench so I could put my feet up. The only thing missing was a hot tub. Everything in town is within walking distance. We’d visit again.

We made a last-minute trip to see the Christmas lights and stayed here years back as well. The toilet was clean, and the beds were neatly made and clean. The room had an overpowering smell from the fragrant cleaner they use. It’s decent, though definitely not a five-star hotel. It could use deep cleaning, or at least a thorough dusting, but I’d stay again when we come back to Helen.
