Delta Hotels by Marriott Richmond Downtown

The biggest drawback for me was the location. Richmond Convention Center is about half a mile away, but the walk includes some very steep hills, and there isn't much nearby to eat. Many restaurants are in office buildings that seem to close on weekends. I had my car, so I drove out to find food. Whether I'd return depends on what brings me to Richmond. The hotel itself was nice. My room faced the James River, and the view was excellent. The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated having both a mini-fridge and a microwave. WiFi was decent, with a faster option available for a small fee. The front desk team was helpful, including the man who checked me in Friday morning and explained how to get to the convention center. I was in town for the DLC for Lorcana.

The Pantry had plenty of good food choices and stayed stocked, and the staff were always smiling and ready to help. The cleaning staff were helpful too, offering extra hand soap when we needed it. I came with My Kitties 😸 💕 for the Sting 3.0 concert, and even with rain for most of our stay, we had a magnificent time. Definitely recommend this place!💕💕💕💕

Micah from the sales team really came through for me. I accidentally had a Rent the Runway package sent to the hotel, and he emailed right away to offer to arrange its return to UPS. That saved me a huge headache, and he didn't have to take that on. Those thoughtful, proactive gestures make a difference. We were there for Inauguration weekend, which could have been hectic, but the Delta team made our stay feel easy. Everyone was friendly, responsive, and quick to handle questions or requests with genuine care. We'd absolutely stay again in Richmond and highly recommend it.

The room was dark and quiet, though I suspect a lower floor might be noisier. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. There's an attached parking garage, but we used free street parking over the weekend. One night, all the elevators stopped working, so we had to climb more than 10 flights of stairs.
